Interview of Ms. Suman Sharma, MD, SECI on All India Radio

NEW DELHI- An Interview with Ms. Suman Sharma, Managing Director of Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. was aired on All India Radio on 16th April 2023. This interview was with reference to the Mann Ki Baat which was aired on 26th March 2023 in which the Hon'ble PM mentioned the achievements of India in the field of Solar Energy. 

A follow-up program on this subject was aired on the FM Rainbow Network and other Channels of All India Radio in which Ms. Suman Sharma, MD SECI was invited to share her views on the Solar sector.

Ms. Suman Sharma highlighted the country's rapid transition to Renewable Energy for meeting international climate commitments and the pivotal role of SECI in implementing RE tenders/projects.

She emphasised on the need for solarization of Andaman-Nicobar and Lakshadweep islands and also spoken about SECI's new initiatives in Green Hydrogen, Market based solutions, Electric vehicles, Roof Top Solar etc. 

She also appealed to each and every citizen of India to avail the maximum benefit of Roof Top Solar from the Government of India official website i.e https://solarrooftop.gov.in/

Recently, Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has been accorded the status of Miniratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) on 10th April, 2023. Incorporated in the year 2011, SECI is the primary implementing agency of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India for Renewable Energy schemes/projects towards fulfilment of India's international commitments. 

Till date, SECI has awarded Renewable Energy (RE) project capacities of over 56 GW. SECI is also active in setting up of projects on its own investments as well as for other public sector entitites as Project Management Consultant (PMC). SECI enjoys highest credit rating of AAA by ICRA.
