IRCTC Projects under CSR in the field of healthcare, sanitation and school education
New Delhi: During the year 2021-22, IRCTC has undertaken numerous initiatives towards CSR & Sustainability activities in the field of healthcare, sanitation and school education. The company has mainly focused on Health Care and Health & Nutrition, with a special focus on COVID-related measures including setting up makeshift hospitals and temporary COVID) Care Facilities" as a common theme as per the guidelines of DPE. Broad Details of the activities undertaken during FY 2021-22 are as under:
1. Under the broad theme of Health & Nutrition, IRCTC provided financial assistance towards Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India for providing Aids and Appliances to Divyangjans in Jammu at a total project cost of Rs 25 lacs.
2. Under the broad theme of Environment sustainability, IRCTC provided financial assistance towards the provision of bottle Crusher Units (5Nos) over the TVC Division at a total project cost of Rs 3.72 Lakhs.
3. Under the broad theme of healthcare and sanitation, IRCTC financially supported SULABH International" for the construction of 9 seated Sulabh Toilet Complexes at Janki Sthap, Sitamari, Bihar at a total project cost of Rs 31 lakhs.
4. IRCTC provides financial support towards a scholarship for educational support to 15 needy blind students out of 109 needy students during the year for a total cost of Rs. 60 K.
5. Under the broad theme of Contribution toward the Armed Forces, IRCTC financially supported financial support towards contribution to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund (AFFDF) and CRPF for the welfare of Ex-Servicemen and their widows and dependents with financial implication of Rs.5 Lakhs and 2.87 lakhs respectively.
