MCL empowers differently abled people
Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. (MCL), in a CSR initiative, has given away eleven e-rickshaws to differently abled people in the presence of the Commissioner of Samabalpur Municipal Corporation in Sambalpur District of Odisha.
This initiative is being undertaken to help differently abled persons to become self-employed and to strengthen their ability to earn their livelihood on a daily basis. This will enable them to be included in the main stream of the society. MCL will be giving away another nine e-rickshaws to differently abled beneficiaries selected by a District level selection committee under the chairmanship of Collector, Sambalpur.
E-rickshaws promote clean and green energy as they run on a chargeable battery which reduces emissions. This project has been executed in partnership with the Regional Centre for Disability Rehabilitation (RCDR), Sambalpur for which Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd has allotted an amount of Rs 17.85 Lakhs.
