MCL Vigilance’s From Dark Coal to Clean Coal book released
Sambalpur: Mr A K Jha, Chairman & Managing Director, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) released the book “From Dark Coal to Clean Coal” published by the Department of Vigilance.
An attempt to tell the story of coal mining industry through the eyes of Vigilance, the coffee table book encompasses the history of coal mining in India and Odisha in developing scenario with the introduction of technology and steps taken to strengthen the mechanism for transparency in business operations.
The book was released by the CMD in the presence of Director (Personnel) Mr L N Mishra and Chief Vigilance Officer Mr Munawar Khursheed.
“From Dark Coal to Clean Coal covers some of the industry’s history, the turning points of discovery and development, the booms and the bust and lastly the corruption and the corrective practices that were put in place, over the passage of time”, said Mr Khursheed while introducing the hardbound coffee table book.
The CMD appreciated the efforts of Vigilance department in recording information with regard to the development of coal mining industry in a creative way through the book.
