MDL Flagged off the Frist Block of Project 17A
Mumbai: The flagging off of the First Block of Project 17A by Commodore Rakesh Anand, IN (Retd), Chairman and Managing Director of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, from the Nhava Yard, marked a new beginning of shipbuilding of shipbuilding activities at the yard.
The occasion of flag off was attended by the CMD, Directors and other officials of MDL along with Warship Production Superintendent (WPS), Mumbai and his team.
Director (Shipbuilding) RAdm Anil Saxena, IN (Retd), speaking on the occasion stated that P17A added yet another feature of 'Build anywhere and assemble at MDL' in construction philosophy of these State of the Art Frigates which is using Integrated Construction for the first time in the Indigenous Warship Construction.
CMD congratulated efforts of all the stakeholders for reviving Shipbuilding at Nhava Yard, and brought out that Yard’s efforts towards enhancing shipbuilding capacity got another boost today.
