GHCL Limited, India’s leading Chemical Company, has been awarded a ‘5 Star’ rating for its Khadsaliya Lignite mines situated in Bhavnagar Gujarat, by the Ministry of Coal(MOC), Government of India.

Coal Ministry awards ‘5 Star’ rating to GHCL Limited’s Khadsaliya Lignite Mines
New Delhi: GHCL Limited, India’s leading Chemical Company, has been awarded a ‘5 Star’ rating for its Khadsaliya Lignite mines situated in Bhavnagar Gujarat, by the Ministry of Coal(MOC), Government of India. This is the first Lignite Mine from the state of Gujarat to receive a ‘5Star’ rating by achieving the 16th Rank in the Ministry rating scheme for Coal Mines.
The Mining sector in India is constantly evolving with a focus on enhancing efficiency, deploying safer Mining techniques to ensure accident-free operations, a better environment, the welfare of workers, and rehabilitation of project-affected families, etc.

These parameters relate to environment, economic performance, operations, compliances, safety and security, rehabilitation and resettlement and adoption of technology and best practices.
A five-star rating, the highest in the rating scheme and is awarded to mines that perform best on the above parameters. Total of 206 Mines participated in the open cast category for 2021-22.
