MRPL donated an ambulance to kaveri memorial charitable trust
Mangalore. Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd, Mangalore, in continuation with its contribution to rural healthcare, has donated an Ambulance to Kaveri Memorial Charitable Trust, Mangalore today.
This ambulance will serve as a “Hospital on Wheel” as it is equipped with all the cardiac care facilities and will also be manned by a Doctor or paramedic as needed. This facility shall benefit the rural residents of Kalasa, Horanadu, Kudremukh, Javali, Kottegehara and Balehonnur.
This ambulance is donated to Kaveri Memorial Charitable Trust, Mangalore which has established a rural hospital in Kalasa under the name of Kaveri Memorial Charitable Hospital. This hospital is the only charitable hospital in Mudigere Taluk and caters to the services of people and provides basic Obstetric and Surgical Facilities to the rural people. This Force Traveller ambulance shall serve as a hospital on wheels and save many lives.
The Ambulance key and documents were formally handed over by Shri M Vinayakumar, Director - Refinery, Smt Pomila Jaspal, Director - Finance and Shri Sanjay Varma, GGM I/c Refinery to Dr Vishwanth Prabhu, President of the Trust and Dr Padmanabha Kamath, Cardiologist of KMC. Shri Krishna Hegde, CGM – Projects introduced the Doctors and the officials of the Trust. Dr Vikram Prabhu thanked MRPL management for this noble initiative. Smt Pomila Jaspal, D(F) wished that this initiative of MRPL would help the Trust in its programme to serve people of these remote villages.
ONGC MRPL has previously constructed the super speciality wing of Lady Goshen hospital Mangalore and also has donated ambulances for rural areas of Coastal region. It also has ambitious plan to upgrade the healthcare center of Mulki to a full-fledged hospital.
