Bhubaneswar: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has entered into the aggrement with cement for the first time to supply the major significant volume of fly ash on long-term basis.
This is an initiative towards effective ash management of the Company. Pralhad Joshi Ministry of Mines, Government of India.
NALCO is one of the largest integrated Bauxite-Alumina-Aluminium-Power Complex in the country encompassing bauxite mining, alumina refining, aluminium smelting and casting, power generation, rail and port operations, this CPSE having integrated and diversified operations in mining, metal and power under Ministry of Mines, Government of India.
Globally, NALCO has achieved the distinction of being the lowest cost producer of Bauxite and Alumina in the world for the year 2019 as per the latest report of Wood Mackenzie. With sustained quality products, the Company’s export earnings accounted for about 42% of the sales turnover in the year 2018-19, and the Company was rated 2nd highest net export earning CPSE in 2018-19 as per the Public Enterprise Survey report.
NALCO is the first Public Sector Company in the country to venture into the international market in a big way with London Metal Exchange (LME) registration since May, 1989.
The Company is one of the 1st CPSEs to have a CSR Policy since inception and is compliant to the norms of the Companies Act. It has spent around Rs. 39 crore towards CSR activities in the year 2019-2020. For the effective implementation of CSR activities, NALCO has set up a standalone Foundation in 2010.
