NCL opts contingency plans as rain lashes out coal production
Singrauli .Incessant downpour over the past two months has severely disrupted both the coal production and off-take in the Northern Coalfields Ltd (NCL), a Minaratna company contributing approx. 12 per cent of the national coal production.
However, the company, which is operating only opencast mines for which rainfall is considered as curse, is taking all round efforts for coping up the situation and has come up with contingency plans in co-ordination with the Indian railways, NTPC and Uttar Pradesh RajyaVidyut Nigam Limited.
The company has drawn up contingency plans in consultation with its holding company Coal India Ltd, Ministry of Coal. As per the contingency plans the company is trying supply of ThirtySix Thousand Tonnes per day to Singrauli Thermal Power Station (TPS) of NTPC through Indian Railways.
