NHPC Organises Apna Ped Program Under Van Mahotsav 2020
New Delhi: NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company organized ‘Apna Ped’ programme under Van Mahotsav 2020, a plantation drive in NHPC Residential Colony, Faridabad on 11.07.2020 with an objective to make the colony a green colony. Shri A.K. Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, NHPC along with his wife Smt. Sudha Singh started the programme by planting saplings. Shri Ratish Kumar, Director (Projects), Shri N.K. Jain, Director (Personnel) with his wife Smt. Sharmila Jain, Shri M.K. Mittal, Director (Finance) with his wife Smt. Maya Mittal, Shri Y.K. Chaubey, Director (Technical) and other senior officers of NHPC, employees and their family members also participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri A.K. Singh highlighted the importance of trees and their role in creating a green environment. He further asked everyone to talk care of at least one plant that would help in making the colony a green colony. Over 200 saplings were planted and another 200 saplings were distributed amongst participants during the day in this initiative. The saplings which included Mango, Amla, Guava, Ashwagandha, Champa, Amaltas etc. were especially chosen for their medicinal and horticulture importance
