Northern Coalfields is training 480 local youth in various trade
Incidentally, 40% of the candidates selected for training are below the poverty line and another 40% are directly or indirectly affected by the project.
Singrauli: Northern Coalfields Ltd. in a new CSR initiative is training 480 local youth in various trades like Mine Electrician, Mine Welder, Data Entry Operator and HEMM Mechanic in association with the Skill Council for Mining Sector (SCMS) at Mining Skill Center in CETI premises, to open up employment opportunities.
The training comprises of 70% practical sessions and 30% theory. Due to Covid, this training is being given in hybrid mode in which theory classes are being given to the trainees through a virtual medium. Practical classes are being held in different shifts keeping in mind Covid protocol.
The Project Affected People (PAPs) and local eligible candidates living within the vicinity of 25 Kms around NCL were given preference followed by eligible candidates of Singrauli and Sonbhadra districts. Incidentally, 40% of the candidates selected for training are below the poverty line and another 40% are directly or indirectly affected by the project.
