NRDC Signs MoA with Gauhati University of Assam
New Delhi: An MoA agreement was signed between National Research Development Corporation and Gauhati University of the Government of Assam under the initiative of North East NRDC Cell established at Guwahati Biotech Park, Technology Complex, IIT Guwahati.
NRDC was established in 1953 by the Government of India, with the primary objective to promote, develop and commercialise the technologies, know-how, inventions, patents, processes emanating from various national R&D institutions, Universities and is presently working under the administrative control of the Dept. of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India.
Dr. H Purushotham, Chairman & Managing Director, NRDC and Dr Suresh Kumar Nath, Registrar, GU has signed the MoA in the presence of Prof. Prodeep Phukan, Coordinator IPR Cell, GU; Dr U Khanikar, Joint Registrar, GU; Shri Amit Ranjan & Dr Bula Choudhury, Coordinating Officers, North Eastern Cell of NRDC and Dr. Madan Gopal Barthakur, Senior Scientist, GBP, on 1st June, 2018 in the Gauhati University campus.
This MOA with NRDC will provide expert services in IPR management, training, Techno-commercial evaluation of technologies developed by faculties/students, linkages with research funding agencies, linking to Startup India Mission and setting up of the incubation Centre at GU etc.
The initial aspects of MOA is to:
1. To promote, develop and commercialise the technologies, know-how, inventions, patents and processes emanating from GU
2. To provide assistance for assessing patentability through Patent search
3.To organising IPR awareness programme for faculty and students and Techno-commercial evaluation of Technologies developed by faculty and students for their commercial potential.
4. To provide hand-holding and mentoring services through its panel of domain experts, and connect to advance laboratory facilities through its vast network of Labs, academic institutions and domain experts.
5. To assist and facilitate GU in setting up of incubation centres in their campus and to establish student and faculty start-up.
6. To provide techno-commercial services required by GU.
