NEW DELHI- Shri Partha Mazumder, Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining) in August presence of Shri Animesh Jain, HOP (Chatti Briatu); Shri Somes Bandyopadhyay, HOP (Talaipalli); Shri Neeraj Jalota, HOP (Dulanga); Shri Krovvidi Chandrasekhar, HOP (Badam); and Shri Faiz Taiyab, HOP (Badam) inaugurated "People and Machinery Tracking System" at Talaipalli Coal Mining Project, on 06.05.2023, from Coal Mining Headquarters (CMHQ), Ranchi. M/s. Unyde Systems Pvt. Ltd. (ClusterMines) is executing this project.

RED (Coal Mining) congratulated CMHQ and Talaipalli team for their efforts in implementing this initiative of digital integration which will not only increase operational efficiency but also promote occupational health, safety & environment.

He said that the coal mining division of NTPC strives to introduce such digital initiatives in line with the vision of NTPC management, and ultimately for achieving our goal of “Zero Incident”. He also shared that this system has been implemented as a pilot project at Talaipalli and will be further extended to other operational mines of NTPC.

This system will onboard the existing as well as new manpower and machinery and provide on-the-spot easy identification; panic/ immobility alert; productivity; etc. on a web-based dashboard and mobile application.

The system allows compliance of recommendations of 12th National Conference on Safety in Mines such as digitization of initial / periodic medical examination records; training records; Form-A details; on the spot easy identification while working in mines; equipment details; etc.

All HOPs appreciated the increasing prevalence of digital technologies, for focus on safety, in coal mining division of NTPC and expected to see more of such initiatives in the future. HOP (Talaipalli) promised seamless integration of the system with day-to-day functioning of the mine.
