NTPC Rammam Hydro Power Project reaches out to project affected villages to fight with COVID-19
New Delhi: NTPC Rammam HPP under its R&R and Community development activities has pitched in to shore up the national fight against COVID-19 as per directions from Shri RK Singh, MOSP.
Masks, Soaps and Sanitizers , Essential Grocery items amounting to Rs 15 lacs were distributed among PAPs villages in GTA area of Darjeeling, State of Sikkim including Contract Workers at site. These grocery items include Rice, Flour, Pulses, Edible oil, Rajma, Turmuric Powder, Dhaniya, Jeera, Chilli etc .
NTPC is also taking care for the migrated labour of Rammam Project. Proper arrangement has been made for their fooding as well as for maintaining proper sanitized living. Medical camps were also conducted at nearby villages for awareness of COVID-19 - Dos& Don’ts.
Financial Support to District administration for purchase of PPE amounting to Rs 9.0 Lacs has also been extended, with Rs 5 lacs to District Magistrate (Darjeeling), Rs 2.0 lacs each to District Magistrates of West Sikkim and South Sikkim Districts. In his statement on this occasion Sh Satish Upadhyay, Head of Project (Rammam HPP) reaffirmed NTPC's support in these challenging times.
