NTPC signs MoU with Water Institute of Chamoli

Chamoli: NTPC's Tapovan Vishnugad Hydro Power Project for the drinking water supply of Joshimath City discharging its social responsibilities, signed a second MoU with the Water Institute Chamoli as part of the community development work of the project.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Rajendra Prasad Ahirwar, General Manager, NTPC Tapovan Vishnugad Hydro Power Project, and Mr. VK Jain Executive Engineer of Water Institute, Chamoli, Chamoli in the gracious presence of DM Swami Bhatoria, DM Chamoli. NTPC Tapovan is spending a total of Rs 15.82 crore on this drinking water scheme.
With this MoU, work will begin soon on this massive drinking water supply scheme being built by NTPC Tapovan for the city of Joshimath. Joshimath city, which has been going through the problems of drinking water for the past many years, will be benefited by its public as well as tourists and archers.
While appreciating NTPC's commitment to society, District Magistrate Chamoli appealed to continue doing such public welfare work even further. In this program, the community development works of the project were also reviewed. In addition to this, District Magistrate Chamoli stressed coordinating the development works of the project with the district development plan so that the efforts of both would benefit more and more local people.
ADM Chamoli Mr. Anil Kumar Chanyal and Additional General Manager of NTPC Tapovan Project Mr. Rakesh Nandan Sahay were also present on the occasion.
