Pakyong Airport Achieved Another Milestone
Sikkim: Sikkim being the one of the North East states which was not having any air connectivity to the rest of India. So there was the acute requirement of regular air connectivity to rest of India.
As Airport construction work has been completed overcoming various hurdles due to geographical constraints. Now Indian Air Force Dornier 228 aircraft has made maiden landing on 5th March 2018 to open the opportunity to start flights by other commercial Airlines.
In continuation, Spice Jet Q 400 proving flight has made successful trail landing on 10th March 2018 to get acquainted with the terrain of Pakyong Airfield. This successful landing has fuelled all concern to start of regular flights which were just a step far.
Another milestone has also been achieved by getting Aerodrome License from DGCA which will enable AAI to start flight operations on 4th May 2018.
