NEW DELHI- The Power Finance Corporation (PFC) organized a conference on "Challenges & Opportunities in Power Sector and PFC's Role under the Changing Scenario" from 07-10 April 2023 at Coorg, Karnataka.
The conference was attended by various senior officials of PFC and the heads of utilities and senior officials of the state sector power utilities from the States of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Goa, and renewable energy company MahaPreit.
The conference was inaugurated by Shri R S Dhillon, CMD, PFC, who spoke about the challenges and opportunities in the power sector and the role of PFC in the changing scenario. He emphasized the need for innovation, technology, and sustainability in the power sector.

The conference also discussed the challenges faced by the power sector such as transmission and distribution losses, financial sustainability, and the need for reforms.
Smt. Simmi R Nakra, CVO, PFC, spoke about the role of PFC in financing the power sector and the various initiatives taken by PFC to support the growth of the power sector in India. Shri R R Jha, Director (Projects), PFC, spoke about the various projects being implemented by PFC and the challenges faced in their execution.

Overall, the conference was a success, and the participants gained valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities in the power sector and the role of PFC in the changing scenario. The conference ended with a resolve to work towards a sustainable, reliable, and efficient power sector in India.
