Plans to add 1305 Mw hydropower capacity in current fiscal
New Delhi: India is planning to add around 1,305 Megawatt (Mw) of additional hydropower generation capacity in the current financial year, over 20 per cent lower as compared to 1,659 Mw added last fiscal.
The last year’s target stood at 1,714 Mw. This year, the government is expecting 1,000 MW to be commissioned through its four Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) projects while the rest 305 MW are expected to from the private sector.
