PM to inaugurate the newly developed Airport in Ayodhya
The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the newly developed international airport in Ayodhya, which will serve the cities of Ayodhya and Faizabad in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has signed memorandum of understanding [MoU] with Airport Authority of India [AAI] in February 2014 for the development of the Airport. The airport is located adjacent to NH-27 and NH-330 at Naka, Faizabad in Ayodhya district. The name of the newly developed airport is Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya Dham. The inauguration of the airport will be primarily done before the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir on January 22. The architect of new airport and renovated railway station has been inspired by the grand temple and cultural ethos of traditional part.

The entrance terminal building has an approximate area of 6500 sq m, which will be equipped to serve about 10 lakh passengers annually. The runway is suitable for A-321/B-737 type aircraft operation. The indigo aircraft is likely to operate the inaugural flight from Delhi Airport to Ayodhya Airport and the flighting operations will commence from 6 January.
From the initial to the last phases of the airport, it will depict the different life stages of Lord Rama according to Hindu Vedic mythologies. where the first phase of the state-of-the-art airport has been developed at a cost of more than Rs 1,450 crore.

The infrastructure and connectivity of the airport domain will significantly improve the tourism, business and employment opportunities for youths.
