Power Minister laid foundation stone of Power Grid Vishram Sadan at Areraj

Shri R. K Singh, Honorable Union Minister of Power, New and Renewable Energy laid the foundation stone of Power Grid Vishram Sadan at Areraj, East Champaran. 

This rest house is being constructed by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna enterprise under the Ministry of Power, under its Corporate Social Responsibility.

In this foundation stone laying programme, Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Honorable MP, East Champaran, Shri Sunil Mani Tiwari, Honorable MLA, Govindganj, Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Personnel), Power Grid, and senior officials of Power Grid and State Government were present.

Under this project, a grand PowerGrid Vishram Sadan with 50 beds will be built in Sub-Divisional Hospital, Areraj by PowerGrid in a total 650 square meter build up area, with all modern facilities - furniture, mattress, TV, curtains, hot water using solar energy, fire fighting. And will be equipped with fire alarm and RO/water cooler facilities for drinking water.

This Vishram Sadan will take approximately 18 months to complete and upon completion of the project it will benefit the people of 42 villages of East Champaran district.

It may be noted that under Corporate Social Responsibility in Bihar, Power Grid is carrying out various development works like construction of rest houses in DMCH, Darbhanga and IGIMS, Patna, construction of school buildings and bench- Various works like arrangement of desks etc., construction of toilets, rural roads, Chhath Ghats etc., installation of solar lights and high mast lights have been done. Apart from the core business of power transmission, Government of India's Maharatna PSU Power Grid is also playing a leading role in social work.
