PSUs played stellar role in National Growth: GAIL Director HR at 5th PSU Summit

New Delhi: Shri Ayush Gupta, Director (Human Resources), GAIL said that with India poised to become the world's third-largest economy, the country's Public Sector Undertakings will have a major role to play in achieving this distinction at the earliest. Delivering the inaugural address at the 5th PSU Summit organised by All India Management Association here, Shri Gupta said since India's Independence, PSUs have played a stellar role in national growth.
Even today, PSUs work not just for profit, but also for social development by setting up projects in even the remotest parts which private companies avoid. "The motto of PSUs is not just profit. It is Nation first, development first, infrastructure first," he said.

To improve this further, the Government is focusing on bringing excellence through increased efficiency, digitization and creating a leadership pipeline. Shri Gupta, who is also the Programme Chairman of the PSU Summit on the theme "The Future of the PSUs - Catalyzing Economic Transformation", said the programme would provide an opportunity to participants to share learnings from the best practices of PSUs.
