RINL conducted a full-Scale Mock drill
The mock drill was witnessed by Central Safety Committee members, Safety representatives, Employees & Contract workers.
New Delhi: Sri J. Shiva Shankar Reddy, Joint Chief Inspector of Factories, Govt. of AP, and Sri Nilesh Kumar, Sr. Commandant, CISF, RINL witnessed the full-scale mock drill conducted by Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to test the on-site emergency preparedness following an imaginary LPG leakage at LPG Installation- II in its Utilities department.
During the mock drill, the fixed fire fighting installations such as Sprinkler systems, LPG gas detectors, Fire monitor systems, Swivelling water curtains etc., are put in operation and other communication facilities like Emergency Manual Call Point and siren systems are used.
Sri J. Shiva Shankar Reddy, Joint Chief Inspector of Factories and Sri Nilesh Kumar, Sr. Commandant (CISF), RINL applauded the efforts of VSP in conducting the mock drill. The mock drill was conducted under the guidance of Chief emergency coordinator, the Executive Director (Works) I/c Sri. K.V. Vidyasagar.
The mock drill is coordinated by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF – VSP) unit. Emergency services like CISF Fire wing, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Medical services, Andhra Pradesh state police (AP- Police), Gas Safety, Maintenance services, safety department, CISF (Security) and HR dept etc., actively participated.
Senior officers of VSP, Sri HS Biswal, Chief General Manager (Energy, Utilities & Power), Sri MSV Krishnaiah Chief General Manager (Safety& Envi.), Sri KVV Prasad General Manager (Utilities) I/c and Sri S.Sanyal General Manager (Safety) I/c, Sri UK Halder General manager ( EnMD) I/c - the chief observer and senior officers of NDRF, SDRF and AP-Police were present on the occasion.
