SAIL and Government of India feel proud of Indian Railways
New Delhi: SAIL being a longstanding partner of Ministry of Railways, Government of India feel proud of Indian Railways, as India becomes the 6th in the world to join the elite club of producers of high horsepower locomotive indigenously.
The growth in supplies of SAIL-Durgapur Steel Plant locomotive wheels for electrical locomotives during the year 2019-20 witnessed a growth of over more than 94% over CPLY. This helped not only the highest ever Locomotive production but also increased availability for maintenance. Incidentally, SAIL-Durgapur Steel Plant is the only forged wheel producer in the Country.
