SCOPE for developing global leaders in Public sector
NEW DELHI: SCOPE organised the 6th Advanced Global Leadership Program with the objective to develop global leaders in public sector enterprises here today. Mr. Ved Prakash, Chairman, SCOPE & CMD, MMTC, Mr. Atul Chaturvedi, former Chairman, Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) and Prof. Sougata Ray, Program Director addressed the inaugural session. The program was organized in academic collaboration with Indian Institute of Management - Calcutta.
In his Opening address, Mr. Ved Prakash, Chairman, SCOPE and CMD, MMTC said SCOPE's Advanced Global Leadership Program aims at igniting the thought process of senior executives of public sector enterprises to prepare and groom them for higher leadership positions in the future. In today’s time when the world is a global village, leaders need to be equipped with competencies to enable them become globally competitive.
Mr. Atul Chaturvedi, former Chairman, PESB in his special address said that the leadership in public sector need to be conscious of the economic environment, hone their skills to meet competition and rise above short term perspective for the future of their organizations. Leaders need to think of future and act today to create impact for future, added Mr. Chaturvedi.
Giving the program perspective, Prof. Sougata Ray, Program Director, Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta said that the program has been designed keeping in mind the need to prepare senior level executives for Board level positions in the Indian public sector.
