SCOPE-ILO Collaborative Study on Women in Leadership and Management in PSEs
New Delhi: Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) in collaboration with International Labour Organisation (ILO) conducted a first of its kind study on 'Women in Leadership and Management in Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs)'. The finding and recommendations of the study were presented with a number of top management and senior executives of PSEs at SCOPE Convention Centre, New Delhi.
Welcoming the participants, DG, SCOPE, Dr. U. D. Choubey said that women constitute about 10% of the total workforce in Public Sector, however, there is a low participation at top level. Dr. Choubey further said that Companies Act has although made provision of one women director on the board, the act need to be compiled in letter and spirit.
Ms. Dagma Walter, Director, ILO for South Asia & India Office said that Gender Equality is also one of the Sustainable Development Goals and ILO is working toward promoting.
