SECL's Ambika Opencast Project got Environmental Approval

New Delhi/Bilaspur: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a "Miniratna" Company, and the largest coal-producing company of India's Ambika Opencast Project got green chit by the State Level Environmental Combat Assessment Authority, Chhattisgarh.
According to the release, the Environmental clearance has been granted to SECL's under the Korba district. This mine has been granted environmental clearance for 10 MTPA of nominal coal production capacity in an area of ??about 134 hectares.
The project has also been earmarked for 1.35 MTPA peak capacity. As per the order issued in this regard, the project management of SECL will have to comply with the conditions mentioned in the environmental clearance for environmental protection and climate pollution prevention and complete all necessary measures in the EIA report.
