Shri Ajit Kumar Singh of NCL conferred best CPO award
Kolkata: Northern Coalfields Limited has won another laurel for strategic sourcing, procurement and materials management. Shri Ajit Kumar Singh, General Mananger (Materials Management) of NCL has been awarded Best CPO (Chief Procurement Officer) Award by Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM).
Shri Singh has been instrumental in implementing e-procurement processes in the company. He also spearheaded highest procurement by NCL through GeM (Government e-Marketplace) because of which NCL was conferred ‘Best Buyer’ award at National Public Procurement Enclave-2018. It is worthwhile to note that starting from F.Y. 2017-18 to this date, Northern Coalfields Limited has procured items worth more than 70 crores from GeM portal.
CMD NCL Shri P.K.Sinha alongwith Functional Directors congratulated Shri Singh for the achievement. Shri Singh attributed the success to the leadership and received accolades and guidance for continued success from Director (Technical/Operations) Shri Gunadhar Pandey and Director (Finance/Personnel) Shri Nag Nath Thakur on Monday at NCL HQ. On this occasion, General Mananger (HRD) Shri Sanjay Kumar and Chief Manager (IED) Shri M.K.Singh were also present.
The award was conferred on Shri Singh by National President IIMM on 29th November in Kolkata during 2-Day national convention NATCOM-2019 organised under the aegis of IIMM.
Notably, IIMM is the national apex body of Materials Management professionals. The institute has wide network of 52 branches and 19 chapters having around 9500 members from Government, Public and Private sectors.
