SJVN entered into the MoU with GoHP for 430 MW Reoli Dugli Hydro Electric Project on Chenab basin
Shimla: In the gracious presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Sh. Jai Ram Thakur, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN, Sh. Nand Lal Sharma signed the MoU for 430 MW Reoli Dugli Hydro Electric Project on Chenab basin during Rising Himachal Global Investor’s Meet at Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The MoU for rest of seven projects have been signed earlier during power conclave held by Govt. of Himachal Pradesh in Shimla.
Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, during the MoU signing apprised that the projects will act as a multiplier for employment generation and overall growth of the entire state. These projects based on Satluj, Beas and Chenab basin in Himachal Pradesh will usher in an investment of 24000 crores bringing in economic development and the employment generation from the projects is expected for 11950 persons. With the signing of this project, these recently signed eight projects will add to 2388 MW of electricity.
Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, thanked Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Sh. Jai Ram Thakur and state Govt. for reposing confidence in SJVN and said that the Company is continuously contributing to the development of the state and till date SJVN has paid a total dividend of Rs.1711.88 crores to Govt. of Himachal Pradesh on an investment of Rs. 1055.01 crores. Sh. Sharma assured that the projects will be completed in time bound manner as Hydro Power is the core strength of SJVN and presently the company is generating 2015.2 MW of power from its operational projects.
SJVN is in process of developing power projects which are in different stages of development in India as well as the neighboring countries Nepal and Bhutan which on completion will add 5564 MW of capacity.As a part of plan for achieving 5000 MW installed capacity by 2023, 12000 MW by 2030 and 25000 MW by 2040, SJVN has formulated aggressive strategies which include both Organic as well as Inorganic modes for growth.
