SJVN Organized Inter School Quiz Competition - Prakriti Khoj
Shimla: To Commemorate the World Environment Day which is celebrated worldwide on 5th June, SJVN Limited organized an Inter School Quiz competition 'Prakriti Khoj' for school’s of Shimla and Solan District. The competiton was organized at Shakti Sadan, SJVN Corporate Head Quarters, Shanan, Shimla. Dr. Savita, Chief Wildlife Warden, Himachal Pradesh was keynote speaker for the event and in her address she shared her experiences on Conservation of Biodiversity.
A total of 78 teams from Govt. and Public Schools participated in the quiz competition. Saraswati Paradise International School, Sanjauli bagged 1st prize of Rs. 15,000/-, Auckland House School, Shimla bagged 2nd Prize of Rs. 12,000/-, Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Sanjauli stood 3rd and rewarded with Rs. 9,000/- and Crescent Sr. Sec. School, Shimla, Nav Jyoti Century School, Nalagarh and Sushila Public School, Baddi were awarded with Consolation prizes of Rs. 3,000/- each. Cheques, trophies and certificates to winners were presented by Dr. Savita, and Shri. Ravi Uppal, CGM, SJVN.
The aim of organizing the Quiz Competition was to help students in gaining environment awareness, sharpen their cognitive knowledge and communication ability. The quiz was conducted by Quiz master Shri KPS Shante, who has a rich experience of 30 years in quizzing.
During the event an exhibition on Birds Photographs clicked by Ms. Devjani Patra, DGM (Environment), SJVN and Ms. Aleesha, a student of Auckland House School was also held. All visitors along with the officials of SJVN took very keen interest in the exhibition.
