SJVN signs EPC contract for 90 MW Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project
Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN Limited today informed that SJVN has entered into Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) Contract for 90 MW Omkareshwar Floating Solar Power Project, Madhya Pradesh.

Shimla- Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN Limited today informed that SJVN has entered into Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) Contract for 90 MW Omkareshwar Floating Solar Power Project, Madhya Pradesh with M/s Larsen & Toubro Limited. The project is being executed by SGEL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN for the development of renewable projects.
The Contract Agreement was signed in the august presence of Sh. A. K. Singh, Director (Finance) SJVN, Sh. S.L Sharma, CEO, SGEL, Sh. Deepak Nayak, Head Renewables (L&T Limited), and other senior officials of SGEL and L&T Limited.
SJVN participated in the Tariff based competitive Bidding process of REWA Ultra Mega Solar Limited and bagged the full quoted capacity of a 90 MW Floating Solar Project @ INR 3.26 /Unit on Build Own and Operate basis through e-RA.
The project is expected to generate 196 MUs in the first year and the cumulative energy generation over a period of 25 years would be about 4570 MU. Investment to the tune of 650 crores is estimated for this project. As per the contract agreement, the project shall be commissioned by December 2023.
The commissioning of this project is expected to reduce 2,23,923 Tonnes of carbon emission and would contribute to GoI's mission of reduction in carbon emission.
