SJVN's Thermal Limited completes Hydro Test of Boiler of Unit-1 of Buxar Project

New Delhi: Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN Limited congratulated Team of SJVN Thermal Pvt. Limited (STPL) for successfully completing the Hydro Test of Boiler of Unit-1 of 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project (BTPP). STPL, a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN is executing the project at Chausa in Buxar district of Bihar.

As on date, the erection works of Plant equipment are in full swing. First & Second Units of the Project are scheduled to be commissioned in December 2023 and March 2024 respectively.

Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel), Sh. A.K Singh, Director (Finance) and Sh. Sushil Sharma, Director (Electrical) were also present.
The hydro test of the Boiler designed, manufactured and installed by M/s L&T was successfully conducted at a pressure of 438 kg/ cm2 which is 1.5 times the design pressure. This ultra-supercritical Boiler is designed to have overall higher cycle efficiency, consume lesser coal and generate lesser ash & carbon dioxide.
