Tamil Nadu joins UDAY to get benefit of Rs 11000 crore
NEW DELHI .New Delhi: Tamil Nadu today joined the power distribution reform scheme UDAY which would help the state derive a net benefit of nearly Rs 11,000 crore.The Union Minister of State for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines , Shri Piyush Goyal presiding over the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana (UDAY) with the Government of Tamil Nadu and TANGEDCO, in New Delhi on January 09, 2017. The Minister for Electricity, Prohibition & Excise of Tamil Nadu, Shri P. Thangamani and the Secretary, Ministry of Power, Shri P.K. Pujari are also seen. With this, 92 per cent of the country’s discom debt has been covered under UDAY.
