THDC Ltd achieves milestone of 72-hour trial run for Unit 1 of 1320 MW of KSTP Project

THDC India Limited, a Mini-Ratna Public Sector Enterprise, has reached a significant milestone in its mission to strengthen India’s Power Generation Capabilities. Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, CMD, THDCIL, announced that the 72-hour trial run along with all statutory tests for Unit 1 of the 2x660 MW (1320 MW) Khurja Super Thermal Power Project (KSTPP) was completed on 23rd January 2025.

This achievement paves the way for the Commercial Operation Declaration (COD) of Unit 1, marking a pivotal advancement in THDCIL’s commitment to the Power Sector.

Sh. Vishnoi added that this trial run is not just a technical accomplishment; it symbolizes our unwavering dedication to bolstering India’s energy security and generation capacity. He applauded the tireless efforts of the KSTPP team and reiterated THDCIL’s resolve to expand its presence in India’s Power Sector.

CMD THDCIL, Sh. Vishnoi informed that Equipped with advanced technologies, including Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) systems and compliance with MoEF&CC guidelines, the Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant sets a benchmark for environmentally responsible Thermal Power Generation.

Sh. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), conveyed his heartiest congratulations on this achievement and said that this milestone exemplifies the collective dedication, meticulous planning, and relentless efforts of everyone involved. Sh. Singh added that the state-of-the-art facility at the 1320 MW Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant, will set new benchmarks in Thermal Power generation, addressing regional Power demands and supporting India’s Vision of Affordable and Uninterrupted Power Supply.
