Union Minister of State for Coal appreciates NLC for Oxygen Plants and CT SCAN in Neyveli Hospital

New Delhi: Shri Raosaheb Patil Danve, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Coal, Mines and Railways, today (16-07-2021) virtually inaugurated the Medical Oxygen Generating Plant and CT Scan Equipment in NLC India Hospital, Neyveli. He appreciated the initiatives of NLCIL being the biggest CPSE in Southern India in taking care of its employees and society in pandemic situation in the significant manner.
Dr Saanthalshmi, GS, Incharge mentioned that 350 bed NLC Hosptial is serving the society for the last six decades and informed that during pandemic period, NLC Hospital has ensured availability of beds, oxygen and critical drugs to all patients. Shri Bapuji GM Mechanical who is instrumental in bringing oxygen plants informed that two units of 12 NM3/Hr will generate oxygen equivalent to 82 cylinders per day. The plant has latest Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology. Shri Bapuji further informed that oxygen availability is being ensured in Multi layer manner to avoid any eventuality of break down.
Dr Dharini Mouli, DGS Medical informed that the state-of-the-art, CT Scan equipment has a tie-up with M/s. Sri Kauvery Hospital, Trichy. The Japanese made Canon equipment, with 16 slice facility is the latest technology used and one of its kind not accessible in 45 Kms distance from Neyveli. This will be operated round the clock and will be available for the public also at very competitive rates.
Shri V.K.Tiwari, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Govt. of India appreciated the CSR initiatives of NLC as well as other Coal Companies. Shri Rakesh Kumar, CMD appreciated the Hospital team headed by Shri Sathiaamurthy, CGM/Hospital Admn. in bringing these facilities in a short span during a pandemic situation which will help in better medical treatment at reasonable cost.
The function was attended by Shri R.Radhakrishnan, MLA, Shri Saba Rajendran MLA, Shri K.Balasubramaniam, Collector, Cuddalore, Shri C. Sakthi Ganesan, SP, Cuddalore, Directors, and CVO of NLCIL, Dr.S.Manivananan, Founder and Managing Director, Kauvery Hospitals. The function ended with a vote of thanks by Shri R. Vikraman Director/HR, NLCIL.
