NTPC chief Arup Roy Choudhury gets additional charge of DVC
NEW DELHI: Arup Roy Choudhury, chairman of India's biggest generation firm NTPC, has been given additional charge of heading Damodar Valley Corporation Ltd till appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders.
Roy Choudhury took over as CMD NTPC on September 01, 2010, and the company has been growing from strength to strength under his leadership. NTPC achieved highest-ever capacity addition for third consecutive year during his tenure. During the financial year 2012-13, NTPC added 4170 MW against 2820 MW in financial year 2011-12 and 2490 MW in financial year 2010-11. NTPC achieved a record capex of Rs. 19,925.53 crore (standalone) during financial year 2012-13 against Rs 15,993.52 crore during financial year 2011-12, an increase of 24.50 %. NTPC has a planned capex of Rs. 20,200 crore for financial year 2013-14. He has recently authored a book 'Management by Idiots 'which has been very well received. Times of India
