NTPC signs MoU to set up medical college & hospital in Odisha

 
BHUBANESWAR: A MoU was signed today between Govt of Odisha and NTPC for setting up of a Medical College & Hospital at Sundargarh .in presence of  Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. P.K. Mohapatra, Principal Secretary to Government Health & FW Department and Sri U.P. Pani Director, HR, NTPC signed the MoU. Dr Damodar Rout, Minister Health & FW, MSME, Sri Arun Kumar Sahu, Minister Energy and I&PR, Sri Pradeep Kumar Jena, Secretary, Energy, I&PR and Dr. Arup Roy Choudhury, CMD, NTPC were present.The National Thermal Power Corporation today signed an MoU with the Odisha government for setting up a medical college and hospital in Sundergarh district
 
While the state government would provide 20 acres of land at Sundergarh town free of cost for the purpose, the NTPC had committed to make capital expenditure of Rs 350 crore on the medical college and hospital project. The project is likely to be commissioned by 2016-17 .  Orissa diary.com
The proposed Medical college at Sundergarh will have 100 MBBS seats as per the norms prescribed by the Medical Council of India and the hospital will be a 400-bedded one," CMD, NTPC, Arup Roy Choudhury, told reporters.
