 PM  renames NTPC Sipat plant, after Rajiv Gandhi

BILASPUR: The newly setup NTPC's 2980 MW  Sipat super thermal power plant at Sipat, which was dedicated to the nation by Prime Minster Manmohan Singh on Thursday, was rechristened as Rajiv Gandhi Super Thermal Power Station (RGSTPS).
 
 
 
Lauding NTPC's role in power generation, the Prime Minister said he was aware that employees of the corporation have worked in adverse and difficult conditions to achieve their targets here. He said NTPC was responsible for one third of the total power generation in the state and it had so far invested over Rs 17,000 crore here and was planning to put in another Rs 23,000 crores in different projects.   TIMES Of INDIA
