BPCL Confirms ₹4,117 Crore Contracts with Technip Energies for Bina and Mumbai Refineries
Mumbai, January 8 2026 – State owned oil major Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) on Thursday issued a clarification regarding a news report published on Economic Times titled Technip Energies wins two major BPCL contracts for Bina, Mumbai refineries.
In its filing to stock exchanges, BPCL confirmed that it has issued three letters of intent to Technip Energies Limited on 24 November 2025 for major refinery projects.
The contracts include:
Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning package for the Polypropylene and Butene 1 unit at Bina Refinery with an estimated cash outflow of Rs 3600 crore.
Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management services for the Petro Resid Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit at Mumbai Refinery with an estimated cash outflow of Rs 467 crore.
Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management services for the Hydrocracker Unit revamp at Mumbai Refinery with an estimated cash outflow of Rs 50 crore.
BPCL stated that all these contracts are awarded in the ordinary course of business and form part of the company’s capital expenditure program.
The company further clarified that it does not expect any price movement in BPCL shares due to these contracts and confirmed that there is no undisclosed information that could explain any unusual trading activity.
BPCL also said that since the contracts were part of routine business operations, there was no regulatory requirement to disclose them earlier under SEBI Listing Regulations.
The clarification was signed by V Kala, Company Secretary of BPCL.
