Swayamsidha Ladies Club inaugurated Bamboo Craft Training program at NTPC Dulanga
NEW DELHI- On 07.04.2023 Regional Executive Director ( Coal Mining) Shri Partha Mazumder visited NTPC Dulanga. On his arrival, he was welcomed by Shri Neeraj Jalota, Head of Project, NTPC Dulanga. Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining) visited Dulanga Mines and reviewed its performance.
During his visit he inaugurated the Dulanga Transit Camp in the kind presence of Shri Neeraj Jalota, Head of Project, NTPC Dulanga, Shri Somes Bandopadhyay, Head of Project, NTPC Talaipalli and other senior officials.
An inauguration programme of the Bamboo Craft Training was also organized in Resettlement & Rehabilitation Colony, NTPC Dulanga. Smt Mahua Mazumder, President, of the Swayamsidha Ladies Club inaugurated the training program and interacted with the lady participants. Following the inauguration, a mosquito net distribution drive was also conducted to prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases in the village area.

Smt Jyoti Jalota, President, Prerana Ladies Club, Smt Dolon Chapa Bandopadhyay, President, Tilotama Mahila Sangh and senior members of Swayamsidha Ladies Club were present during the programme. The event ended with a plantation drive by the guests and members of Prerana Ladies Club.
About NTPC Dulanga
NTPC Dulanga is a 1,600-megawatt (MW) thermal power plant situated in the Sundargarh district of Odisha, India. The project was commissioned by NTPC Limited, a public sector company that specializes in power generation and distribution in India.
Dulanga Block was allocated to NTPC under Captive mode. It is located in the Ib Valley Coalfield lying in the south eastern extremity of NW-SE trending master basin belt of Sone Mahanadi valley. The block falls in Sundergarh district of Odisha state. This block is contiguous to Manoharpur block which is owned by OPGC in the North West side.
The plant is equipped with two units of 800 MW capacity each and uses supercritical technology to generate power, making it one of the most efficient power plants in the country. It is also a "zero-discharge" plant, which means that it recycles all its waste and does not discharge any pollutants into the environment.

The plant generates power by using coal from the Dulanga coal block in Odisha, which was allocated to NTPC by the Ministry of Coal in 2016.
The plant has also created employment opportunities for the local community, providing jobs to over 3,000 people during the construction phase and over 700 people during the operational phase. NTPC Dulanga has also implemented several community development initiatives, including the construction of schools, health centers, and community halls, and has also undertaken initiatives for the welfare of the local community.
Overall, NTPC Dulanga is a flagship project of NTPC Limited and a significant milestone in India's energy sector. It showcases the country's commitment to sustainable and efficient power generation and provides a blueprint for future power projects.
Dulanga coal block is about 55 km South-West from of Sundargarh District headquarters and about 10 Km North-West of Jharsuguda District headquarters. It is connected by Tar Road with Hemgir – Jharsuguda national highway. The nearest rail head is Hemgir Railway Station at a distance of about 28 Km.
