Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited (MECL) has commenced exploratory drilling at the Kendadih Phase-IV Block under the administrative control of the Kendadih Project for Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL).

The work, inaugurated in the presence of senior HCL officials led by Shri Deepak Srivastava, GM (Mechanical) alongwith AGM (Exploration) Shri Mr. Amit Degvekar, demonstrates MECL’s expertise in copper resource evaluation, including detailed geological preparation, core drilling, and comprehensive exploration studies.


MECL team led by Shri Ankit Gautam, Project Manager and Shri  Sharadindu Layek, Project Geologist coordinated the smooth commencement of this prestigious exploration work. 

Copper, a critical metal for India’s industrial growth and renewable energy ambitions, underpins sectors from power transmission to electronics. Through this project, MECL continues to strengthen India’s capability to identify and develop high-quality copper resources, supporting both strategic and economic priorities.
