State-owned Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) has disclosed an unfortunate incident that occurred on 12/07/2025 (Saturday) at around 8 AM, involving two of MRPL's experienced field operators.

New Delhi, July 14, 2025: State-owned Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) has disclosed an unfortunate incident that occurred on 12/07/2025 (Saturday) at around 8 AM, involving two of MRPL's experienced field operators.

The company has stated that it is understood that they went on top of tank platform for checking the level of tank FB7029A in OMS area of MRPL. Both employees were found unconscious on the tank roof top platform.

Further, they were shifted to first aid and subsequently to nearby hospital. Both these operators could not be revived and have been declared as dead.

And, the Third operator in the rescue reported of nausea. He was admitted to the hospital in Mangalore after First aid in MRPL. He is stable and has been discharged from the hospital.

In order to examine the actual fault, a high-level committee of Group General Managers has been constituted for carrying out a detailed investigation.
