New Delhi : Panchpatmali Bauxite Mine of NALCO achieved the highest ever bauxite excavation since inception with a figure of 75,50,670 MT in FY 22-23 against previous highest Annual Bauxite Excavation of 74,14,100 MT( FY 18-19).

NALCO (National Aluminium Company Limited) is one of the leading aluminium producers in India. Its operations are based on mining, refining, and smelting bauxite, an ore from which aluminium is extracted. NALCO's Bauxite mines, located in the eastern state of Odisha, are an essential component of the company's supply chain.

The bauxite deposit at Panchpatmali is one of the largest in the country with an estimated reserve of over 310 million tonnes. The quality of bauxite available at this site is of high grade, with an average alumina content of over 45%, making it ideal for aluminium production.
