The Board of NLC India Ltd in its meeting held has announced the incorporation of a Joint Venture Company with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) with equity participation of the Company and RVUNL in the ratio of 74:26 for establishing, maintaining and operating 3 x 125 MW Lignite based Thermal Power Station.

The JV plant is supposed to develop and operate lignite mines to meet the requirements of the Thermal Power Plant.

This is subject to compliance of DIPAM guidelines and necessary approvals of MoC and other departments, as may be required.

The JV entity is supposed to meet the needs of thermal power generation and mining operations in the state of Rajasthan.

The Ministry of Coal has conveyed the order to approve the significant JV. The name of the JV entity is provisionally listed as NLC Rajasthan Power Limited. Yet the name is subject to change as per need.
