NLCIL's Vigilance Department conducted a beach cleanup at Cuddalore’s Silver Beach under Swachhata Pakhwada, with 30 employees participating.

The Vigilance Department of NLCIL has whole-heartedly involved itself in the “Swachhata fortnight” from 16.06.25 in line with the Swachh Bharat Mission that aims to achieve a cleaner and healthier India by promoting cleanliness and hygiene. As part of this campaign, a team of 30 members, comprising employees from all cadres of the Vigilance Department of NLCIL, actively participated in the Swachhata Pakhwada cleaning activities at Cuddalore Silver Beach on 27.06.2025, led by Thiru.

Appakannu Govindarajan, IPoS, Chief Vigilance Officer, and Thiru A. Eraniyan, Chief General Manager. The effective initiative inspired children and the public who joined
hands with the team in fulfilling its mission. The dedicated team of 30 officials collected litter filling four large bags.

The waste comprised largely of plastic spoons, paper cups, and plates. Abandoned footwear were also among the major items found scattered along the beach. Earlier during the fortnight, the Vigilance team has actively carried out voluntary cleaning works at various locations of Neyveli Township like the Vegetable market, Main Bazaar shop area and all Public parks. The theme of ‘Clean India, Green India’ was promoted by the team through awareness campaigns emphasizing the importance of keeping the surroundings and
public spaces clean.

The cleanliness campaign of the NLCIL Vigilance team has created an awareness among the public to actively contribute towards keeping the neighbourhood clean and tidy — a responsibility essential for the collective well-being of all.
