NTPC Bongaigaon celebrates Anand Mela celebrating Vibrant North East
The two day mela will see ethnic dance performances, fashion shows and cultural programs by reputed performers of the state and region.
Bongaigaon: NTPC Bongaigaon organised the two day "Anand Mela'' on the theme "Celebrating Vibrant North East'' under the aegis of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club on 20th and 21st February, 2023.
The Mela was inaugurated by Smt. Varnali Deka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar, ïn the presence of Shri Ashim Kumar Goswami, RED, ER-II, Shri Pusparaj Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kokrajhar, Smt. Manjari Goswami, President, Vasudha Mahila Mandal, ER-II, Shri Karunakar Das, CGM, NTPC Bongaigaon and Smt. Vidya Jha, Vice President, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club. A west colony playground of the township named "Älayaran '' meaning first dawn was also inaugurated on the occasion by the esteemed dignitaries.
More than 25 stalls which showcased various food items of the flavours of India by members of the ladies club and spouses enthralled the entire gathering. Various stalls of Handicraft and Handloom,Internal Medical,IT and Safety Deptts, Automobile Companies from Bongaigaon and Assam participated in the Mela. Cultural troops from Assam depicting the rich cultural heritage of the state also performed on the occasion. An army band depicting patriotic fervour also performed on the occasion with synchronized symphonies.
All the dignitaries visited each stall and appreciated the delicacies and efforts by the Ladies Club. Stalls of Bal Bhawan, game stalls by NTPC employees and flower shops by armed forces were enjoyed by the visitors of the township and nearby villages.

Shri Sanjay Kumar Jha, GM (Fuel Management), Shri Sanjay Pande, GM(FGD), Shri I.S. Reddy, GM (Maintenance), Shri Arunashis Das, GM (Project), Shri G.M.Thangzom,Commandant,CISF, Smt. Saswati Mazumdar, General Secretary, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, officials of district and state administration, HODs of various Deptts, representatives of union and association were also present on the occasion.
