World Environment Day: NTPC Bongaigaon plants more than 100 saplings

Bongaigaon: NTPC Bongaigaon committed itself towards a sustainable planet by planting 100 saplings on World Earth Day coinciding with the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution". The NTPC Bongaigaon senior management led by Shri Karunakar Das, CGM, NTPC Bongaigaon planted saplings of varied types including medicinal plants at its township premises.

An environment day pledge was administered by Shri Karunakar Das and Shri S K Jha, GM(FM) the presence of all employees.

Shri Das, CGM, NTPC Bongaigaon spoke on how NTPC as a group company is focusing on inspiring governments, businesses, and citizens to combat climate change. Shri Das also highlighted the efforts of NTPC Bongaigaon towards creating a healthier planet for its stakeholders. 

A morning walk was conducted on the occasion to spread the message of environment conservation. All participants were gifted with jute bags to encourage the use of biodegradable bags instead of Single-use plastic.

Shri Umesh Singh, GM (O&M), Shri S K Jha,  GM (FM), Shri Induri S Reddy, GM (Maintenance), Shri Arunashsis Das, GM (Projects) along with Shri E.Nyulli, AGM, EMG(Environment Monitoring Group and O &M - Civil) and Heads of Departments also participated in the plantation program.
