NTPC Bongaigaon plants more than 1000 fruit bearing saplings on the World Environment Day 2021
New Delhi. World Environment Day was celebrated at NTPC Bongaigaon today on 5th June, 2021 by administering the Environment Day Pledge to the employees of the station by Shri Subrata Mandal, CGM,NTPC Bongaigaon. On this occasion, a massive tree-plantation drive was undertaken at the township where a large number of employees,family members,ladies club members and associates planted over 1000 fruit-bearing trees.
In his message, Shri Subrata Mandal spoke on the efforts taken by EMG Group and NTPC Bongaigaon towards environment protection and afforestation and emphasized upon the initiatives taken by the company for developing a green-belt in the township, plant and surrounding areas. He emphasised that the fact every day should be celebrated as Environment Day and the efforts of the people towards preservation of the environment should be done on a sustained basis continuously. Shri T Ravinder, GM (O&M), Shri Umesh Singh GM (FM/Maintenance), Shti D.P Patra, GM (Operations), Shri H.K.Brahma, Commandant, CISF, Shri Arunashis Das, AGM(Projects), Shri Ajoy Kumar Datta, AGM(TS), Shri A K Chawla, AGM(HR) joined the celebration by planting saplings.
Various competitions through on-line mode have also been organized on this occasion for employees, family members and associates.
Adherence to social-distancing and other applicable COVID-19 protocols were ensured during World Environment Day celebrations.
