NTPC CMHQ Hosts Successful Regional Round of Electron Quiz 2025
The regional round of the NTPC Electron Quiz 2025 took place on 22nd November in Ranchi. Hosted by NTPC CMHQ, the event saw enthusiastic participation from approximately 57 teams representing premier engineering and management institutes of Jharkhand.
New Delhi: The regional round of the NTPC Electron Quiz 2025 took place on 22nd November in Ranchi. Hosted by NTPC CMHQ, the event saw enthusiastic participation from approximately 57 teams representing premier engineering and management institutes of Jharkhand.
The competition was intense, with participants showcasing exceptional knowledge across various fields, including technology, energy, and current affairs. At the end of the day, the team from XLRI Jamshedpur, comprising Aniket Verma and Chirag Chaitanya, clinched the top spot in the regional round. Vishrut Rana and Srishti Soni, also from XLRI Jamshedpur, secured second place, while Janhvi Ojha and Divyansh Singh from BIT Mesra finished third.
The winners were awarded a prize money of ₹60,000 for their stellar performance, while the second- and third-place teams received ₹30,000 and ₹20,000, respectively. Additionally, the teams securing fourth to sixth places were awarded consolation prizes of ₹8,000 each.
Speaking at the event, Shri Naveen Jain, CEO of NTPC Mining Limited (NML) and RED (Coal Mining), highlighted the significance of the quiz in promoting intellectual growth and innovation. He said, “Winning and losing are part of the game. By conducting the Electron Quiz, our goal is to continue fueling the curiosity of young minds.”

Path to National Semi-Finals
With this victory, the top two teams from XLRI Jamshedpur will now move on to compete in the National Semi-Finals of the NTPC Electron Quiz 2025–26, to be held in Noida on 18th December. If they qualify, they will advance to the National Finals, scheduled for 19th December 2025.
NTPC’s commitment to fostering intellectual talent and engaging the youth in critical thinking and innovation was evident at the regional round held in Ranchi. Participants expressed their appreciation for the event, thanking the host, NTPC Mining Limited, and renowned quiz master Gautam Bose for conducting the quiz in an exciting and seamless manner and for providing an excellent platform to test the participants’ knowledge and skills.
