NTPC commissions movement of coal through inland waterway

KOLKATA.  NTPC Ltd's Farakka Super Thermal Power Station in West Bengal had started the movement of imported coal by barges through inland waterway. The first set of 3 barges carrying about 1500 Tonnes each of imported coal has berthed near Farakka station on November 13, 2013. NTPC will transport 3 MMTPA of coal through inland waterway to Farakka station for 7 years. Shares of NTPC Ltd was last trading in BSE at Rs.150.60, up by Rs.0.50 or 0.33%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.151.85 and low of Rs.149.55. The total traded quantity was 0.79 lakhs as compared to 2 week average of 1.85 lakhs.
