NTPC Limited has initiated a series of major procurement and technical engagement actions as part of its strategy to reinforce power infrastructure across gas, thermal and upcoming river-linked projects. The company has floated a key service tender for the refurbishment of Stage-4 rotor blades of a gas turbine at its Dadri Gas Power Station under Tender ID 2025_NTPC_102487_1.

The one-year service contract, issued through a three-cover bidding system, requires bidders to submit fee documents, qualifying records and a financial bid. The tender carries an earnest money deposit of ₹5 lakh, with the bid submission window closing on December 17, 2025, followed by technical bid opening on December 19. NTPC has mandated strict adherence to its safety rules, fraud-prevention policy and non-deviation requirements, while releasing detailed technical documents and BOQ files through its e-procurement portal.

Alongside this, NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited (NSPCL), a joint venture of NTPC and SAIL, has invited bids on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) platform under Bid No. GEM/2025/B/6914335 for a comprehensive Boiler & Auxiliaries Maintenance Contract at Durgapur units PP2 and PP3.

The two-year package covers maintenance of boilers, rotary components, ESP systems, milling systems, air pre-heaters and burner assemblies. The tender includes an EMD requirement of ₹10 lakh, while extending full EMD exemption and document-fee benefits to eligible Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs). NSPCL has reiterated that as per existing procurement norms, if the lowest bidder is not an MSE, all MSE bidders quoting within 15% of the L1 price will be given the opportunity to match the lowest bid for full award consideration.

In a major sustainability-focused initiative, NTPC has also issued a global Expression of Interest (EOI No. NTPC/PE/SE/EOI-01/2025-26) seeking advanced, climate-resilient and technologically innovative solutions for water withdrawal from the river Ganga for a forthcoming project. The company aims to identify robust, automated, and adaptable intake systems capable of performing under highly variable river conditions, including monsoon floods, lean-season low flows, heavy silt loads and sudden stage fluctuations. The EOI invites proposals from international and domestic agencies offering hybrid, modular, retractable or amphibious intake designs with features such as redundancy, real-time monitoring and environmentally compliant controls. The last date for EOI submission is January 15, 2026, with clarifications accepted until December 25 and responses scheduled to be opened on January 16. NTPC has stated that the initiative aligns with India’s broader commitment to sustainable resource management and its own long-term plans for climate-resilient infrastructure.

Collectively, these tenders and the global EOI highlight NTPC’s ongoing efforts to reinforce operational reliability, integrate advanced technologies and ensure long-term sustainability in power generation. At a time when electricity demand in India continues to surge, the company’s focus on asset upgrading and climate-adaptive engineering marks a strategic step toward strengthening national energy security.
